New Member ID Numbers for FEDVIP patients in 2022

Starting January 1, 2022, VSP® Vision Care will issue all Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP) members who have enrolled in VSP a new 10-digit Member ID number.

|

Currently, your practice staff can identify patients by using their first name, last name, date of birth, or last four digits of their social security number. On January 1, your practice can start using the new Member ID to identify your VSP patients and incorporating the number into the patient authorization process as a privacy-sensitive option.

If a patient asks where they can find their new Member ID, tell them they can log in to their vsp.com account as they normally would and navigate to their Member ID card. Their ID card will be updated with this new number, and they can print their Member ID card at any time.

FEDVIP Open Season is in full swing until Monday, December 13 (EST, Midnight). There’s still time to discuss FEDVIP Open Season with your patients and encourage them to select or continue using VSP to continue their relationship with your practice and continue maximizing their eye care and eyewear benefits.
